On Saturday 11th April we lived the 14th priestly ordination of an Indian Josephite in the beautiful place of Valiyathura – Trivandrum at St. Anthony’s Parish, right in front of the beach and before the astonishing blue sea and blue sky of that memorable day! Many Josephites, many priests, many seminarians, many Sisters and the usual crowded assembly composed by relatives, friends and parishioners took part in the solemn ceremony, which lasted about 3 hours!
Aware that this was just the “appetizer”, since in the coming weeks we have a busy agenda of celebrations in India, we lived this new God’s gift with great joy, with plenty of smiles, but also with devotion and silence during the inspiring celebration, presided over by the bishop of Punalur diocese, Selvister Ponnumuthan, who is also a close friend of the Josephites.
Fr Mariolino, on behalf of Fr General and of the entire Josephan congregation, gave the final thanksgiving in Malayalam and wished Fr Yesudas to live as a joyful Josephite priest and as a servant of Jesus, that is what his name precisely means!
